Using Easy Tai Chi and 4 Minute Fitness
to Enhance Sexuality

Easy Tai Chi  and 4 Minute Fitness practice offers many wonderful benefits, many of which will affect sexuality in a general or roundabout way. And others that can make a profound difference, particularly when it comes to cultivating intimacy.

Let's look at a few of the well known tai chi benefits, and how they may apply to the physical aspects of sexuality...

1. Increased flexibility and strength.

Without doubt, a fit and fluid body will 'perform' better during any function it tackles. The act of love-making can be physically demanding. Weakness and exhaustion often limit contact and duration. Inflexibility can reduce sexual options or comfort in certain positions. Tai chi practice can increase stamina and postural capabilities.

2. Improved breathing.

Most of us do not breath well - we use the upper most part of our chest and exist in a 'panting' mode - just getting enough oxygen to survive. That means our bodies are often oxygen deprived, and therefore function at a low level.

Each of our bodies has about 60 trillion cells, each of which does an astounding 6 trillion things a second to keep us going. Breathe poorly, and each cell suffers at the expense of the whole. Just a few styles of tai chi - including Tai Chi for Busy People - teach quality breathing right from the beginning, a factor that can increase vitality and therefore sexual vitality quickly.

Breathing skills are vital in controlling orgasm as well as moving sexual 'chi' up the spine.

3. Improved immune function and vibrancy.

This one is easy. A sick body does nothing well. Even sex. Tai chi practice encourages whole body movement (which moves lymph, helping the cleansing and detoxifying process). The peace and serenity resulting from tai chi reduces stress, allowing more time for recovery and the healing needed from day to day living.

4. Increased relaxation.

Anyone who is overly stressed, hyper, wired and exhausted will function poorly. Sex just becomes another function to squeeze into a busy day. Little attention is paid to the ever important details like loving foreplay and mood development. There may be a physical release, but the relationship may still be wanting.

Think about how much better sex and communication is when you are on vacation, with hours of time to re-connect and little stress to get in the way (at least until the advent of cell phones...).

Regular practice of Easy Tai Chi - even just five minutes a day - can help you get in touch with this deep feeling of peace.

But that's not all. Tai chi can make a profound difference as a result of the following...

5. Increased awareness of energy flow and personal chi.

In reality, you are mostly energy. You have very little actual mass, but the tiny particles that make up YOU present the illusion of being solid because they spin at blinding speeds around each other.

I give a more detailed and graphic explanation on the video tape, but suffice it to say for now that you are mostly space, and energy (chi).

When it comes to the experience of chi - most people have become quite numb, deadened. We simply don't feel it anymore.

Tai chi offers an increased awareness of this chi. So does sex. The pre-orgasmic state of vibration, of profound energy flow is a classic example of chi movement. Interestingly - the cultivation (and increased awareness) of tai chi energy can help with the cultivation of sexual energy and vice versa. (Note sexual chi is often cultivated through various Tantra practices).

The beginning steps of this awareness often happen in tai chi when people simply slow down enough to listen and observe. This energy is always there; tai chi just helps you reconnect with it.

The first step is to recognize it, the second is to learn to cultivate and develop this chi. Five minutes of slow movement and breathing can serve as an effective introduction to personal chi.

6. Increased ability to be present, in the NOW.

As you practice your tai chi, you usually become aware that your mind is everywhere but in the moment (so what else is new?). The present moment is all you really have, but you may be actively in the past re-living an old argument, or jumping ahead to the future, worrying about the next car payment.

So you lose the preciousness that moment offers. Slowly but surely

tai chi practice can bring you into the wonder of your movement, your energy, your connection with all that is.

This ability to focus on the NOW will enhance all aspects of your life. You will listen and communicate with complete presence, with no pull into the past or future.

The ability to be fully present is one of the most powerful creators of spectacular relationships, and will add huge energy into your intimate relationships and therefore significantly boost the quality of your sexual connections.

Prior to sex, you will be able to look deeply into your partner's eyes, into his/her soul. During and after sex, you will be totally present for each other.

Sadly - most people are almost never present. Tai chi slows you down to the point that you at least recognize the flurry of mental activity that is you. Once that happens, then you begin to take slow steps into now.

And every aspect of your life will blossom.

Make a point to be fully present during your encounters with your partner. And use tai chi to connect with the moment.

Tai Chi for Busy People and 4 Minute Fitness represent the first movement toward these benefits. The biggest obstacle to successful tai chi practice is the years required to learn most styles.

But - it doesn't have to be difficult or complex. I teach and recommend just five minutes a day of quality movement.

Does it all happen in a few minutes a day? Not usually right away, but five minutes represents powerful steps toward the vital awareness, and toward achieving a better quality of life.

Life is more than "busyness". Use sex and your tai chi practice to pull out of your hectic world long enough to get to know yourself, to discover your own personal energy, long enough to find the present moment.

And long enough to connect with your partner.

I suspect you'll like it... a lot.

COMMENTS

Dear Keith,

"I was given a tape of yours as a gift. I have severe Fibromyalgia at times crippling. I want you to know I have regained much of my balance. I want to thank you from my heart."  K. Sorenson

FOOD FACT

Buying the large economy buttered popcorn may not be as smart as people think.

Just 50 cents more doubles your calories and heart clogging fat. And the free refills? Forget them if you want to live well for a long time.

Definitely a deal that is no deal. Protect yourself from this marketing ploy.
